Writing a Good Nomination:

  • The key to a good nomination is to help the judges to get to know your nominee. They are unlikely to know the person in question, therefore use the allocated word limit to describe the person’s work and to explain what motivated you to nominate that person.
  • Be sure to mention:
    • How you came to be familiar with the nominee’s work
    • The work they have done relative to the nomination category
    • The impact their work had on you and / or others
    • Why the nominee is worthy of the category nomination
  • If you can, illustrate your answer by giving an example of the nominee’s work
  • The nomination should be long enough to cover the above but not so long that the judges could get lost in the detail. Use the full 300 word limit but don’t go over!
  • The more complete your nomination, the more likely it will be that your nominee will be successful
  • And finally, the best of luck to your nominees!
